Tarangire National Park is a hidden gem often skipped by shorter itineraries — which means fewer vehicles and a more authentic experience. Enormous elephant herds gather at the Tarangire River, and ancient baobab trees dot the landscape. A full day here is one of Tanzania's greatest wildlife experiences.
Early pickup from your hotel. Drive southwest to Tarangire (approx 2 hours).
Enter the park and begin game drive along the Tarangire River.
Explore the park's diverse zones. Spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and over 550 bird species. Bush lunch.
Exit the park. Return to Arusha by 6:30pm.
